THE BLUE MARK VII

Here are pictures of my blue 1988 Mark VII
These are pictures showing some of the changes I have done to this car since I got it.

This is the car about 4 months after I bought it. All stock!
I got this car with 127,XXX miles on it. It ran great and had been well maintained.
About a year later I put BBS wheels from a 1990 LSC on.
I really didn't like the turbine wheels that the pre 1990 LSC's came with. So when I found these BBS wheels I scooped'em up.
I got a great deal on a set of Mustang Pony wheels
I didn't care for these wheels alot. I got them for a great price though and they were a half inch wider than my stock wheels. The 245/50 tire size I run fit the wider wheel a bit better. They are still 16" though.

I didn't have the Pony wheels on for long when these wheels became avalable. These are 17" 1998 Mustang GT wheels with custom Lincoln center caps.
The back end.
For the time being I am runnig 245/45/ZR17 Kumho Supra 712's.
I painted it semi gloss black. This is how it looks now.

Some of the mods I have done to this car include:

Dual electric fans

3:55 gears

K&N drop in air filter

Turbo Coupe front swaybar

Stock H pipe with gutted cats

Complete smog delete

2.25 exhaust all the way back with Magnaflow mufflers

Underdrive pullies

Poly rear bushings

Ball joints

Front control arm bushings

KYB Gas A Just shocks

KYB GR-2 Struts

Just a note. The GR-2 struts are one of the best avalible for the Mark VII. That does not mean they are good! In my opinion they are JUNK! If your looking for any kind of firm ride or cornering get caster/camber plates and buy some Mustang struts.

This is what happens when your air suspension goes haywire on you!

I knew my Lincoln had a lot of optoins for such an old car but I never new about the 4X4 option!

Well it was weird how it played out. I was a couple miles from home and I looked over at my wife and said: "What the heck is happening? The rear-end is jacked way up!" She noticed and said: "It feels like we're in a funny car!" Then as I pull into town, my front end starts going up. By the time I was a block from my house it was topped out and the ride was hard as a rock! One of my neighbors was mowing his lawn and stopped to watch me go by. Then as I drove into my driveway my next door neighbor looked at me like what in the...? To top it all off, as I'm running around my car popping the trunk then the hood my wife almost fell out of the car from laughing so hard. My 7yr old boy was saying "that's cool dad let's leave it like that!!" And my 12yr old daughter is telling mom to go get the camera because this is too good to not get it on film! During this time all I could think of is how loud an air bag is when it goes BOOM!!
